Move Your Business To Shetland

Perhaps you already have a successful business and you believe that it will work just as well in Shetland as elsewhere; this may particularly appeal if you do all or most of your work over the internet or by post.  We have excellent electronic and postal connections to the rest of the UK. 

However, exporting goods from Shetland is easy to arrange too, as we have a nightly ferry link, daily air services and local haulage firms who are very experienced in moving goods efficiently to destinations throughout the UK and farther afield.

Either way, it would be a very good idea to run your ideas past staff in the one of the local agencies, namely the Council’s Economic Development Unit and HIE's Shetland office. They will have knowledge of the local marketplace and can also tell you about the various forms of specific assistance they can offer.
